15 tanks provided for Ganesh idol immersion

Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is ready for Ganesh festival with the construction of tanks near river banks in 15 areas for the immersion of idols to combat river pollution. The tanks have been built in coordination with the ward offices, Solid Waste Management Department and Health Department of PMC, who have collectively worked for the tanks to facilitate the immersion. 

All the river banks have been cleaned by the corporation and barriers were constructed to prohibit people from entering the river. There are also life guards at the banks. PMC staff will work in two shifts to supervise activities. PMC has also arranged for equipment to keep a check on noise pollution.

Sangam ghat, Siddheswar ghat, Ashtabhuja Mandir (Narayan Peth), Bapugath, Vitthal Mandir, Thosarpaga Ghat, Rajaram pul ghat, Chima Udyan Yerawada, Warje, Karvenagar, Gali no 1, Aapte Ghat, Omkareshwar temple, Pulachi wadi, Khandoji Baba Chowk, Garware college, Dattawadi ghat, Aundhgaon ghat, Bundgarden ghat and Panchaleshwar ghat.
